About Edwin

Edwin in Taipei

I’m a 30 something Latin-American nomad living in Asia.

After working in the Silicon Valley for 5 years in I.T., and feeling a bit stuck in a rut, I decided to take a break for 3 months to travel through Asia.

What I experienced in those 3 months had forever changed the course of my life.

I made many new friends, found plenty of work opportunities, and got to eat food to die for daily for pennies on the US dollar.

I now strongly believe that living abroad in a entirely different culture for 3 – 6 months brings a renewed sense of fulfillment and purpose to life.

Hopefully my story and the details I share will inspire you to live and thrive abroad.

For me, 3 months turned into 3 years and counting.

Of course I don’t expect anyone to do something as crazy as permanently move overseas, but I do think a 3-month mini-retirement, (as Tim Ferriss calls it) is worth considering if you’re feeling stuck like I did.

As for what I’m doing for work now, I do a mix of e-commerce and social media marketing, and I’ve recently taken up coding as a way to further develop my skills and work on projects I love.

In my weekly emails, I’ll share with you:

  • Amazing places and experience you should try
  • Progress updates on my various projects
  • How I stay focused and motivated in foreign lands
  • What I’m earning while I travel
  • And honest accounts of my experiences as a solo male traveler.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or if you’d like to just say hello.

Thanks for visiting.
